  • A printed risk-scoring guide (5x5 likelihood and severity)
  • A risk assessment with the score before and after controls
  • Method statement, step by step
  • Emergency arrangements
  • Permits, isolation, COSHH and specialist controls
  • Review and amendment record
  • Competent-person approval and operative sign-off

How it works

  1. Step 1

Pick the trade and the job

Choose the job and SOOF uses its trade, site and scope details, so you are not starting from a blank page.

  2. Step 2

Get a draft with the right hazards

The hazards and controls for your trade, plus common site hazards, are proposed for you to tick, untick or add to. Describe the scope and SOOF pre-selects work at height when your description suggests it applies. You can also have AI draft the content for you.

  3. Step 3

    Review and approve

A named person in your company reviews the RAMS and approves it. Until then it is marked as not yet approved.

  4. Step 4

    Workers confirm in the app

Each worker opens the RAMS and confirms they have read it on their phone with SOOF MyDay. They have to open it before they can confirm.

  5. Step 5

    A full record is kept

SOOF records each worker's name, position, the job and the time, and prints it on the signed-by page at the end of the RAMS PDF. The approval, the confirmations and the branded PDF stay together with the job.

  6. Step 6

Clients see it in the portal

Clients you give access to can view the RAMS for their own sites in the client portal, so they do not need to chase you for it. Each client sees only their own work.

For your trade, not a generic template

RAMS start from the hazards and controls that suit the work. SOOF has set-up for 17 trades, including scaffolding, bricklaying, roofing, electrical, plumbing and heating, building, groundworks, demolition and many more. Other trades can use it too. See every supported trade on the industries page.

A RAMS written for each site, not one generic copy reused everywhere, helps you stay compliant. Every site has its own access, neighbours and hazards, and a site-specific RAMS shows you have assessed the work that is actually being done. SOOF keeps RAMS against the site they were written for, so the right version is the one workers confirm and clients see.

You stay in control. SOOF prepares the draft from the information you give it. It does not act as the competent person, and every RAMS has to be reviewed and approved by a named person in your company before it is used.

RAMS questions

What is RAMS software?

RAMS software helps a company produce risk assessments and method statements for its jobs without rebuilding them in Word each time. SOOF creates a company-branded RAMS as a PDF from the trade, site and scope of the job, then records approval and each worker's confirmation.

Does SOOF create RAMS for my trade?

Yes. SOOF has RAMS set-up for 17 trades, including scaffolding, bricklaying, roofing, electrical, plumbing and heating, building, groundworks and many more. Hazards and controls start from your trade, and you edit the scope for the job in front of you.

Why should I have a separate RAMS for each site?

Every site has its own access, neighbours and hazards, so a RAMS written for that site and job shows you have assessed the work actually being done. This helps you stay compliant, where a generic copy reused everywhere may miss what is different about the site. SOOF keeps each RAMS against its site, so workers confirm and clients see the right one.

Can AI write my RAMS?

SOOF can use AI to draft RAMS content. It is only a draft: someone in your company has to review it and approve it before it is used, and the document says it is not approved until a named reviewer has confirmed it.

Is a SOOF RAMS approved or certified?

No. SOOF helps you prepare the document from the information you give it. It does not act as the competent person and does not certify the document. You review it for the work described and approve it before use.

How do workers confirm they have read the RAMS?

Each worker opens the RAMS on their phone with SOOF MyDay and confirms they have read it. They have to open it before they can confirm. SOOF records their name, position, the job and the time, and prints it on the signed-by page at the end of the RAMS PDF, so the record is complete.

Can my clients see the RAMS?

Yes. Clients you give access to can view the RAMS for their own sites in the SOOF client portal. Each client sees only their own work, and your internal information stays private.

How much does it cost?

RAMS are included on every plan, with every other module. SOOF starts from £29 a month plus VAT, and every new account has a 30-day free trial with no card needed.
